The City has finalised its internal investigation on Makgatle who is currently on suspension. He was under investigation for policy breaches including using state resources to assist Molefe. The investigation found Makgatle, who is deployed in the K9 unit, misappropriated a council vehicle without permission while off duty. Last year, a witness at the Madlanga Commission revealed that the officer, falsely reported sick from work, only to be found at Molefe’s residence during his arrest.
